Sitting with emotions
Practicing being with all emotions and the associated sensations and allowing them to pass by in their own time.
We traditionally think of emotions in black and white terms of good and bad and we often want to cling on to the good and resist the bad, but they also send us important messages that when listened to can direct us towards happiness.
Being able to sit and face towards emotions is an important skill that helps us become more emotionally intelligent.
This mindful approach to emotions also enables us to control our emotions better and stops outbursts or impulsive reactions that can take us and others by surprise.
